On 5th February, 2009 we left for Quetta Bolochistan to distribute aid. A 28hour train ride on the Quetta Express Train laid ahead!
Truck is loaded…, and were on our way!
This women is 70 years old. She was sleeping with her family at 4:00am when the roof of the house fell down on them. Her children were badly wounded and she got fracture in her leg. She is still in need of treatment for her leg.
This old man Imam (priest) of a Mosque. He told us that because of Earthquake their Mosque has destroyed, now there isn’t any mosque in their area to offer prayer, He requested if World Hope can build their prayer room than their congregation would be very thankful.
This women has 2 daughters and 3 sons. She told us that their house is totally collapsed; now they are in the tents. Her 2 sons are 6 and 7 years old. They also mentioned that it is very difficult for them to stay in the tents during the winter season and especially in the rain. World Hope Network gave them food, blankets and school bags for her children. When they saw bags, they were so happy. The lady also told us that her children wanted to go to the school but she didn’t have any way or means in sending them.
Omer graduated from University and is a very kind person who showed us great hospitality. When he heard that we came from Lahore and brought hope for our people and were to help Earthquake victims through food and blankets, he arranged lunch for us in his tent and showed his great love for us.
Hafez is 6 years old and his sister is 5 years old. Their mother told us of how they had been studying in their school which has now has collapsed due to the earthquake. They really want to go to school but they don’t have any books, bags or anything else related to their studies. After receiving bags, colouring books and pencils, they were so excited that they started drawing on the spot.
